Music Momentum is built to keep your practice yours. This page explains, in plain English, what the app touches and what it never does.

01Who we are

Music Momentum is an iPhone app for practising songs from Apple Music at slower speeds. It is made by Etched, run by Stephen Denekamp, the app's registered developer. Etched is referred to here as "we" or "us".

This policy covers the Music Momentum app and this website.

02What we collect

Nothing that reaches us. We don't run servers that receive your data, and the app doesn't send us information about you or how you use it.

The app stores these things on your device so it can do its job:

  • The songs you save, with their title, artist and artwork.
  • The practice speed you saved for each song.
  • The markers and clips you create, with their names and times.
  • The last song you had open, so it can bring it back next time.

03Apple Music

The app asks for access to Apple Music the first time you choose a song. With your permission it uses Apple's MusicKit to search the catalogue, browse your library and play songs.

Your Apple Music listening is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We don't see your library, your listening history or your subscription details.

You can turn Apple Music access off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Media & Apple Music.

04iCloud sync

If you're signed in to iCloud, the app keeps your saved songs, speeds and markers in sync between your devices using Apple's CloudKit. The data lives in your own private iCloud database, which only you can read. We have no access to it.

If iCloud is turned off, everything stays on the device you're using.

05Third parties

The app contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and we don't sell or share data with anyone.

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when the page loads. It sets no cookies of its own.

06Children

Music Momentum doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

07Your choices

  • Delete a song or marker in the app, and it's removed from every synced device.
  • Delete the app to remove everything stored on that device.
  • Remove synced data from iCloud in Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage.

08Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
